I love both of these products but which is better ?

Is it worth the price you pay for 'quality' coloured pencils.

I did several trails and this is what I found out:

Coloursoft

Cons

  • On Amazon the recommended retail price is £44.05 for the 24 pack in a tin -expensive for just 24

  • can be more time consuming to use than other pencils

  • not useful\easy to add small detail with

  • The durability is awarded 3 out of five stars

  • If your not careful they break inside and every time you sharpen them they break(happens with most coloured pencils)this may also be to do with not using a good quality sharpener or to do with the waxiness of the coloured pencils

  • Sometimes they smudge

Pros

  • the blend really easily when you apply pressure

  • you can layer and still give a beautiful colour

  • nice range of colours

  • apply easily

  • soft waxy\ oily texture

  • comes in a colourful tin case

  •  The light-fastness of these coloured pencils are according to a website i found are four out of five starts. this means that the colours wont fade as easy and are

  • better for when selling your work.

  • in total there are 72 colours

  • the have very little wax bloom( you can actually see your work instead of in smiring and creating an unwanted gloss)

  • Look nice on tanned paper

  • They fit perfectly in the big derwent pencil wrap

  • You can get these from range for the 24 pack is £14.99

  • You can get the whole set in a wooden box for £59.95

whsmiths coloured pencils

Cons

  • They come in a cardboard box

  • There is only 36 colours in the whole pack

Pros

  • 36 pencils  but you can get a 48 pack with watercolours in for £10.99

  • Only £7.99-cheap

  • High quality

  • Smooth lead

  • Suitable for  mixing and blending (even better if you us a little baby oil )

  • 4.7 stars

  • Rich deep colours

  • Easy to use

  • Can be better than some expensive pencils

Suitable for 3 years and old

  • Long lasting

  • Don't break easily

  • Look nice on tanned paper

When i first got the coloursoft pencils I go the skin tone pack and because I loved them so much I got the 24 pack for Christmas.when I bought the whsmith coloured pencils I was on holiday . I already new how good they were because that's what my grandma used them and so did I when I go over.

I think they are both really good colouring pencils but if you do not want a waxy sort of pencil or you are on a budget I definatly recommend you get your self the pack of 36 whsmith colouring pencils .
