We all know art can be extremely time consuming and some times a pain so here are a few tips and tricks to make your life just that little bit easier.

This is a tip I have recently just found out. It's so simple but can save a lot of time having to keep changing your water.

All you need is two paint pots and fill them with water. Then when your painting and then change colour instead of getting the water dirty in the first use ,dip the brush in the first pot and then dip it in the second pot this means the first pot gets the dirty old colour and then the second pot wets your brush so it will be already wet and clean for your new colour.

I find this really useful with trying to stop watercolour getting in to small details.

I bought some masking fluid and it's so easy to use . You could either a brush or for a more precise point buy an actual masking fluid pen.A masking fluid pen has two sides and the sides come apart the thicker the line you want.

Don't you hate it when you painting or doing a drawing and you can see your pencil outline. I use a needable rubber and just dap the sketch amd it loosens the graphite leaving a extremly light sketch that you can still see but it wont show up on your finished piece.

Did you know you don't need a expensive calligraphy pen to create fancy writing. You can use any pen even colouring pencils all you do is for the thin lines use the nib and for thick lines use the side of the pen.

Have you ever gone on holiday or gone out and forgot your acrylic paint well you can make some with just three indregents

White glue

Food colouring

Shaving foam

And wala you have some homemade paint.

And if you have forgot your watercolours just get some skittles add some water and they work for a tempory watercolour solution but bare in mind it never fully dries with out going sticky .

Are you trying create a blosstree effect all you need in an elastic band (even a hair bobble ) some cotton sticks (ear bud sticks )and paint. Wrap the band  around a few sticks then dip it in paint creating a quick flowery spotty effect.

Creating a starry night but don't have the paicetnce to place every star down. All you need to do is apply some paint to your brush and tap it.

Are you struggling to get your creative juice flowing splat some paint on your page them once it's dryed draw an image which on top with you thick has a similar shape.

Have you not got any brown watercolour paint use coffee or tea to create a a watercolour picture and to get diffrent tones all you need to do is add more water or coffee/tea.

Do you ever find that your watercolour paintings never seem to be as detailed as you wanted. Well once the image has dried just use colouring pencils to create a more detailed image.
